Every donation to Children’s Health Foundation is important to us. We are committed to raising money for Children’s Hospital and Children’s Health Research Institute in the most effective and efficient manner possible. In 2011, our cost per dollar raised was 32.9 cents, in line with industry standards and the Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.
Children’s Health Foundation is a participant of Imagine Canada’s Ethical Code Program and is committed to following the Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code. The Ethical Code lays out a set of standards for charitable organizations to manage and report their financial affairs responsibly.
Our commitment to the Ethical Code demonstrates our compliance with generally accepted practices for soliciting and managing donor dollars. We believe our donors are entitled to transparency and the greatest impact possible for their investment in children’s health.

Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. To ensure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in the nonprofit organizations and causes they are asked to support, we declare that all donors have rights.
The Donor Bill of Rights was created by the American Association of Fund Raising Counsel (AAFRC), Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). It has been endorsed by numerous organizations.
