A message of thanks
As Chair of Children’s Health Foundation’s Board of Directors, I wish to extend to you – our donors – a very special message of thanks.
Our current health care environment is complex. Sometimes it is controversial and at times, confusing. As a supporter of Children’s Health Foundation, my responsibility to you is to assure you that good things are happening at Children’s. Your donations have and are making a profound difference at both Children’s Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre and Children’s Health Research Institute.
Without your support, the high standard of care, for the children of Southwestern Ontario, simply would not be there. Specialized programs, such as Art Therapy, Child Life, Ollie the Therapeutic Clown, Computers for Kids and Bravery Beads, would not be available. Your donor dollars go directly to these programs and many more like them.
Without the support of donors like you, we would not be able to fund the over $800,000 of specialized paediatric equipment that is currently being purchased this year.
Without the community and regional support of donors across Southwestern Ontario, research into the causes and cures of children’s diseases and disorders would not be taking place, right here, in London, Ontario.
Working in partnership with you, Children’s Health Foundation has, in the last 11 years alone, granted more than $34 million directly to Children’s Hospital and Children’s Health Research Institute.
As we move into the future, Children’s Health Foundation will continue to aid in the establishment of a national child healthcare agenda through new fundraising initiatives focused on such issues as childhood obesity, injury prevention, and child and adolescent mental health. By the year 2012, with the continued support of our donors, we will have contributed more than $13 million to these and other vital, innovative and life-saving initiatives.
To reach that goal we look to you, our donors and friends, to continue to understand the vital role you play in enhancing the standard of care available to our children. Simply put; you make good health care even better.
Thank you for your continued confidence in Children’s Health Foundation as a credible and accountable charitable organization and for being there, with us, to help the kids.
