Translational Research Centre

Thank you for RAISING HOPE®
to find faster answers to treatment

Thanks to the development of a Translational Research Centre (TRC) at Children’s Health Research Institute (CHRI), research on childhood injuries and diseases will be applied to clinical treatments much sooner. Focusing on child health research, the TRC is the first and only paediatric research centre of its kind in Canada.

Working on childhood issues such as traumatic brain injuries and mental health disorders, researchers benefit from a more efficient research process with easier access to data, tissue samples, facilities and equipment. By finding the answers to better treatment faster, children with critical illness and diseases will benefit from scientific findings sooner than ever before.

Your support is bringing research findings to the
bedside faster than ever before.

Some of the successful achievements to date:

  • The creation of a clinical information database for investigators to use anonymous research samples so that patient privacy is maintained.
  • Development of the most up-to-date best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for tissue sampling, processing and storage.
  • Continuing to collect large numbers of high quality specimens that will put the TRC and CHRI at the forefront of childhood disease research.

With over 30 research projects now using the services of the TRC and growing partnerships with other research centres across North America, the TRC is already having a significant impact on paediatric research.
